Basic Armor Standards

Almost all metal armor such as chainmail or plate is largely reserved for nobles or men at arms who have been gifted a set.

The common person is rarely armored, and when they are it generally is a padded gambeson or wax hardened cows leather.

Some banded armor is common in more wealthy areas where metal is more plentiful.
